Demons run in gangs and work together to effectively torment and destroy their human victims. This list of common demon groupings was originally created by Frank Hammond and his wife Ida Mae through years of experience and hundreds of deliverances as ministers. It comes from their excellent book, “Pigs in the Parlor: A Practical Guide to Deliverance.”
When witnessing the activities and manifesting personality of a demonic spirit, check this list for more insight and clarity into what you may be dealing with.
The demons operating through or in a person will vary depending upon a person’s history, family, and individual makeup. However, certain types of evil spirits are found working together in the same combinations over and over throughout history.
When studying this list of unclean spirits, keep in mind that demons are identified according to their nature, and each demon is a specialist in that nature.

53 Demon Groupings: Ruling Spirits & Lower Member Hierarchy
This list of 53 demon groupings (gangs) starts with its ruling spirit, the leader, at the top (the strongman), and members of his clan underneath. The ruling spirit is oftentimes the first to invade a person – usually through trauma in childhood or through inherited generational curses.
These demonic rulers like to use a form of rejection to gain entrance if possible. By using rejection as the initial trauma and wounding, they can keep it festering through unforgiveness and bitterness forever. Whether a person knows it or not, unforgiveness is a major stumbling block in the spiritual realm and ultimately in day-to-day living.
“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15
It’s only by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus) and the truths revealed in the Bible that freedom from them is possible.

What’s Next?
If you’ve never accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, that should be your first step. I have a prayer that you can pray to become born again into His kingdom (see the resources section at the bottom). Ask Jesus to fill you with His Holy Spirit and also get a Bible and read it daily.
The Bible is like the living Word of God, it literally speaks wisdom to your soul; the “knowing” that you need at the moment you’re reading. It’s hard to explain, but once you experience it, you’ll understand what I mean.
If you or someone you know is being tormented by evil spirits, there is only one way back to peace. You’ll need to turn to the one who has already defeated every single demonic entity and holds all the power over them – Jesus Christ.
When He offered Himself as a sacrifice on the cross, He defeated the darkness once and for all – for you. Turn to Him, let Him heal you from the inside out, repent of any sins that let any of these demon groupings into your life, and then take authority over them in the name of Jesus. The demons need to be commanded to go!
